The newly established Professionals and Entrepreneurs Society, in conjunction with the Politics Society, presented their first event to a packed Aske Hall with an inspirational talk given by Lord Michael Levy. Lord Levy spoke about his successful and varied career in a number of fields including accountancy, politics and the music industry, as well as offering business and life advice to his enthusiastic audience.
Lord Levy is a member of the House of Lords and was the Labour Party’s chief fundraiser and Tony Blair’s special envoy to the Middle East while he was Prime Minister. Before this he worked in the music industry, representing many well-known artists and producers. He founded Magnet Records, one of the most successful independent labels of its day, later selling it to Warner Brothers.
The Professionals and Entrepreneurs Society would like to thank Lord Levy for being their first speaker, taking time out from his busy schedule, and setting such a high standard for future events. After telling his story, he was kind enough to open the floor to questions. He went on to compliment the audience on the high quality of these questions. Credit is due to Marcus Foux and Zak Lewis (both Year 10) for setting up this society so effectively.
