We are team Celestial Velocity and we competed very successfully in the two of the three stages of the F1 in schools competition (Regionals, and Nationals), becoming overall champions of North London, and placed top 10 nationally while picking up four awards in Development class. We also won the “Brand Identity Future Stars Award.
I am Phalgun (11R2), and leader of team Celestial Velocity. It was a truly exciting project which has allowed me to gain an insight into STEM disciplines. I completed important tasks and helped with all aspects of the competition: a few examples would be CFD testing, Portfolio development and Brand Identity. The many skills I have learnt from F1 in schools will be extremely useful for my future career in Engineering.
My name is Sanjhay (11M1) and I am the 2nd team member of Celestial Velocity. It was a phenomenal experience for me and I loved every bit of it from helping manufacture the car to managing the finance. Moreover, this has helped reinforce my career aspirations to an extent in areas of data science and electrical engineering. This will mainly be because of my involvement in the research and planning of the wind tunnel and also the management and crunching down of numbers. To keep it short, F1 in schools was a great experience and I wish the events would happen all over again!
My name is Zakariya (11M2) and I am the 3rd team member of Celestial Velocity. Doing F1 in schools has really helped me build upon my teamwork and communication skills, when collaborating with the team and getting to understand the challenge. It’s been a great experience theorising some of the physics behind the aerodynamics, which has so many applications. The applications of the experiences I have acquired have been amazing!
I am Krish (11S2) and I am the 4th team member of Celestial Velocity. F1 in schools has given me an experience of collaborating in a team and meeting demanding deadlines reflective of those commonly seen in the workplace, while honing my precise manufacturing skills and CAD ability to create the car. These skills will benefit me greatly in my STEM career aspiration.
It has been a great honour to compete for the school in this prestigous competition, and we hope to compete in the Professional Class in the 2024 season and achieve even greater heights than before. Please visit our website and access our social platforms from https://celestialvelocity.co.uk/,
