My trip to The Globe and to Haberdashers’ Hall
At the start of the day we went to The Globe. We had a look around the theatre and I found it interesting that there were two holes in the stage, one to represent you coming from heaven, and one to represent you coming out of hell. Then we went to a rehearsal room a few streets away. Our guide, Tom, showed us how real actors rehearsed in the Shakespearean plays.
We then drove to Haberdashers’ Hall where we were greeted with a lovely lunch. The archivist talked to us about the history of the building and I found it intriguing that this was their fourth hall: one was destroyed in The Great Fire of London, the second hall was bombed in the Second World War, the third hall was just too small and now they are in their current hall. Then we toured round the building filling in a questionnaire. We then came back upstairs and were told the answers. I then gave a vote of thanks and we returned back to school.
