On Sunday 24 January, 25 of the senior Royal Navy Cadets began their preparations for the overnight March Field Day activity in earnest by hiking across the Bedfordshire countryside.
They have dedicated their time and effort over the last few weeks during CCF time to planning the four routes that they will be leading their teams of Year 10 and 11 cadets along. Now having confirmed their navigation skills and tested the routes, they are fully prepared for the expedition.
Once at the campsite, all groups were able to visualise and plan their Personal Leadership Tasks (PLTs) that they will be leading for the younger cadets. The Sunday exercise was of great benefit to all those involved. It was lovely to see so many keen cadets out bright and early in the fresh January air and they represented the School well in public.
Thanks go to the accompanying staff (LtCdr Hardman, Lt Hall, Mr Holmes, SLt Gauntlett and Mr Perdikis) who gave up their Sunday to support the Cadets, particularly Mr Holmes and his culinary efforts.
