Forty-six Habs Royal Navy CCF cadets enjoyed a challenging Field Day of sailing at Bury Lake near Rickmansworth. Under the watchful guidance of Dr Chapman, Mr Holmes, Mr Hall, and four further RYA instructors from Bury Lake, the boys set sail in a variety of dinghies.
During the day all types of weather were experienced ranging from brilliant sunshine to squall conditions. The cadets acquitted themselves superbly well afloat and were noted by the Bury Lake instructors as possessing excellent manners; something of which Habs can be justifiably proud.
At one point during the day we managed to have thirty-six boats sailing safely on the water; a new record for the Habs Royal Navy CCF Section. Days like this make one tremendously proud to be a part of the Habs CCF with its legacy which now dates back one hundred years.
