Last month, Oscar (SFM1) completed an impressive 100km run through London. This incredible achievement is the latest in several outstanding accomplishments for Oscar, who has been a dedicated runner for many years.
Oscar is not only an incredible runner, but his commitment, resilience and the values he holds are something to be admired. Training for these challenges is no easy task – especially when juggling schoolwork, playing the trumpet and participating in co-curricular activities. Despite this, Oscar completed 2000km of training last year, often heading out into cold nights after school to fit in a 20km run.
His love for running began early and he ran his first marathon at just 13 years old. Since then, he has completed 6 ultra-marathons, 12 marathons and raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
Oscar’s father, who ran alongside him, said “He was always a pleasure to run with, managing the pace, enjoying the route and digging into some very tough running during the last 15km.”
We are extremely proud of Oscar’s ambition and commitment to his running His efforts have not only brought him personal success but also made a profound impact on the wider community, raising money for those in need.
