On Wednesday 30 September, the Year 3 boys had an excellent day participating in a Roman workshop. It began by learning what a Roman soldier wore. The boys had the opportunity to dress up as soldiers and to take part in a mock battle with their handmade shields.

With an archaeologist they decoded the inscriptions on coins and looked at how various artefacts provided evidence of the past. With some trepidation they tried some foods introduced to Britain by the Romans, and looked at how foods were flavoured.
