The Prep School had a great turnout for their internal touch rugby festival with 60 boys participating in a very competitive morning of rugby. Having had to remove the contact element for this rugby season has been a real opportunity to work on the boys handing and team play in Games lessons and the gains made in this regard were evident in the mornings matches. It was a pleasure to watch the boys play and there was some outstanding rugby on show with the ball moving at pace between players in some great team moves.
In Games, the teachers encourage the pupils to work hard on building character and also encourage the boys to work together to solve problems themselves rather than feeding them the answers and this was also a key feature of the morning. The boys led their own team talks and came up with strategies to outwit the opposition which was a pleasure to watch.
At Habs, staff regularly discuss with the boys about the five sporting values of Teamwork, Respect, Courage, Creativity and Leadership. These values were very evident across the teams who played and we were delighted to award values medals to the following boys:
Creativity | Courage | Teamwork | Leadership | Respect | |
Year 5 | Leon M | Avy S | Samih H | Francis M | Sammy L |
Year 6 | Jaiden J | Aarav T | Yash S | Ahren D | Lucas C |
