Boys from Years 9 and 10 enjoyed five days in Iceland during the half term holiday.

Highlights included lava tube caving, a glacier hike on the Solheimajokull glacier, visits to many picturesque waterfalls and the Geysir geothermal area and the opportunity to bathe in geothermal waters at the Laugarvatn Spa.

On their first day the boys enjoyed a tour of Reykjavik and some spectacular “Aurora Borealis” in the evening. Visits to the Lava Centre and earthquake simulator allowed them to learn more about Iceland’s history of volcanic eruptions and gave them a good appreciation of one of Iceland’s most severe earthquakes in recent history.
