Year 9 pupils visit Bury Lake Young Mariners Centre

80 Year 9 pupils went to Bury Lake Young Mariners Centre in Rickmansworth for Field Day. There were four activities: kayaking; canoeing and stand up paddle boarding on smaller individual paddle boards and on larger boards for groups.

The activities proved very popular both among seasoned water sports enthusiasts and pupils who had not had a chance to try any of these activities before coming on the trip. Their team-work skills and ingenuity were certainly put to the test as they were set challenges by their instructors, including leapfrogging over one another on the giant paddle boards and passing a hula hoop from one end of a row of students to the other whilst holding hands and standing on paddle boards.
