On Sunday 20th September, 102 Yr11s and 6 staff embarked on the annual Geography fieldtrip to Nettlecombe Court in Somerset. The weather was certainly more kind to us than it could have been and this resulted in some excellent fieldwork being carried out. All the work carried out was to support the boys in their Paper 4 exam, and to supplement the work done during the Cambridge fieldtrip in Yr10.
On Sunday the boys got stuck into measuring widths and depths of different sections of the River Holford, in addition to looking at the impact of human use before comparing their data to the Bradshaw model.
On Monday morning, after some initial rain, the boys saw Porlock Bay basked in glorious sunshine making data collection and field sketches that much more enjoyable. The boys conducted themselves well throughout the trip. Many thanks to the accompanying staff; Mrs Fielden, Mrs Carrick, Mrs Ezekiel, Mr Cooper and Mr Bown.
