Huge congratulations to Elin who became the first girl to represent Habs Boys Cricket this term as part of the U12A team.
A very good performance behind the stumps which will surely lead to further selection! Elin is a wicket keeper/bats person and plays for the Herts County Squad. We anticipate other Girls’ School students from Year 7 to Year 9 being able to follow in Elin’s footsteps and play competitive fixtures for Habs Boys.
As part of a collaborative approach between both Schools we have seen an ever-growing squad of enthusiastic Girls’ School students enjoying cricket coaching from Mr Hewitt, Mr Kerry and Mr McIntosh. Popularity of the sport has led to the group size increasing from six to 42 players involved in after school cricket in just three weeks and will also see the first female team being entered into a cricket festival.
