National Bath and Otter Cup Swim Relays

Friday March 13th 2015 saw the annual National Bath and Otter Cup Swim Relays; a national swimming relay competition for all HMC schools. The quality of the competition draws schools from across the country including two from Belfast.

The team composed of Felix Cheng, Thomas Cheng, Alex Down, Martin Lee and Dan McCabe, accompanied by Mr Stiff, they travelled down to the Olympic Pool in Stratford. Despite some problems on the tube we managed to arrive in time for a brisk warm up. The first relay was the 4x100m Freestyle relay, Dan, Felix, Thomas and Alex swum in a powerful competitive manner. They came out with a solid time of 4m 17s, coming 5th in our heat; a strong performance. Next was the 4x50m Medley Relay swum by Thomas, Dan, Felix and Martin. We  came 2nd in out of 9 teams in our heat. The final time was a commendable 2m 06s.

Congratulations to everyone who swam and to those who got PBs on their own individual performances. The team are improving year after year and the Medley Relay team broke the old school record!
